From the streets of Fort Worth to the United States Marine Corps, from a career in technology to rescuing thousands of pugs - Fred Campos Sr. has lived a life filled with unexpected turns, big challenges and even bigger rewards.

Now he's sharing those stories.

Fred Campos is the founder of DFW Pug Rescue Club, Inc., one of the nation’s longest-running breed-specific rescue organizations. It’s an all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing ALL pugs, regardless of age or medical condition. What began as a personal commitment has grown into a mission spanning more than three decades, helping thousands of pugs find safety, care, and a second chance.

Before turning his experiences into this book, Fred built a successful career in software sales, representing several prominent information technology companies. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran and a Texas native who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Fred grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, in a time and place that shaped his character, work ethic and outlook on life. The experiences of his early years - the people, the neighborhoods and the challenges - would later become the foundation for his upcoming memoir,
The Round House of Rock Island.
